About Us

The Al-Manbar Center for Studies and Sustainable Development is an independent center based in Baghdad. Our main vision is to provide a credible perspective on public and foreign policy issues that primarily concern Iraq and the broader Middle East region. We also address other relevant topics. Our center is dedicated to conducting independent analysis and finding practical solutions to political, economic, social, and cultural issues.

Given the regional and international significance of Iraq, it is crucial to evaluate the country at a significant level. However, many analyses and assessments of events and issues in Iraq suffer from a limited perspective that has been shaped by prevailing methods and templates over the past decades. Therefore, our center aims to offer fresh viewpoints based on objectivity, impartiality, credibility, and creativity. We focus on researching and analyzing the challenges faced by Iraq within its regional and international context. By providing insights and ideas to decision-makers, we strive to contribute effective approaches to address these challenges in the short and long term.

To achieve our goals, we engage in accurate analyses, fieldwork, and communication with various regional and international institutions. Our activities center around Iraqi issues related to politics, economy, society, energy, agriculture, international relations, education, culture, human rights, and climate.

Our mission at the Al-Manbar Center for Studies and Sustainable Development is to be a significant source of independent analysis on Iraqi issues. We aim to foster fact-based dialogue about the ongoing changes in Iraq and the region. Additionally, we seek to contribute to the development of strategic thinking among decision-makers in Iraq, regardless of their location. We work towards enhancing the capabilities of research and educational institutions, civil society organizations, and government departments. This includes creating experts in the fields of politics, economics, sociology, development, and decision-making, while also enhancing knowledge and skills in these vital areas. We fulfill our mission through various activities and procedures, including:

Conducting research and analysis: We conduct comprehensive research and in-depth analysis on various Iraqi issues, utilizing scientific methodologies and advanced analytical tools to understand transformations and their impact on politics, economics, society, and culture.

Providing research grants and fieldwork grants: We offer financial support and research grants to researchers and experts who wish to conduct independent research on Iraqi issues. We also provide fieldwork grants to support on-site investigations and data collection.

Organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops: We arrange events such as conferences, seminars, and workshops that bring together experts, academics, decision-makers, and members of civil society. These gatherings facilitate discussions on Iraqi issues and the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Holding training courses: We conduct training courses and workshops to enhance the capabilities of government institutions, universities, and civil society organizations in the fields of politics, economics, and society. These courses aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for strategic decision-making and comprehensive analysis.

Conducting questionnaires and opinion polls: We carry out fieldwork to gather public opinion through discreet, professional, and impartial means. This enables us to provide decision-makers with a clear understanding of individual and societal perspectives, aiding in the development of policies that serve the public interest.

Our objectives at the Al-Manbar Center for Studies and Sustainable Development include enhancing understanding and fact-based dialogue, deepening analytical capabilities in research and educational institutions, and strengthening civil society organizations in Iraq and the region.

Training experts in political and academic institutions, equipping them with decision-making and management skills to enhance the technical and professional capabilities of policymakers and academics.

Collaborating with local institutions and the community to organize events and activities that promote communication and cooperation. These initiatives contribute to economic, social, and cultural solutions, while increasing awareness and education in these areas.

Creating, promoting, and developing strategic research projects in relevant fields to achieve effective and applicable results.
